I really enjoyed this - I have a broadcast background, but that's mainly in radio/audio and there's a pretty set way of storytelling for tv news, so it's interesting to see how a vlogger approaches the edit. The videos were friendly and approachable and it was fascinating to see the behind-the-scenes on Stephen's method of video making. I have access to Adobe Premiere Pro and that's definitely handy. I've learned a lot of new things and am slightly less scared of pictures, now! Can definitely recommend - but remember, as Stephen says, there's no 'right' way to do things.

Dear Stephen, Jess and baby Hunter. I was a complete beginner when I started your course but had aspired to create videos on YouTube for nearly 2 years! Your vlogs are successful for a reason so I decided I needed to learn from the best!! Stephen, you are so patient and you methodically go through every detail of editing but not to the degree that it is too overwhelming. I cannot believe that within a few weeks, I am now able to edit videos to a good standard, which would not have been possible without your course! Thanks so much for sharing the magic that is Flying The Nest with the world! I cannot wait to try your Instagram Growth Masterclass next to promote my Youtube vlogs! All the best, Charlotte

Video Editing Masterclass
This course is a must!
I am a beginner and I am a long way from making good videos. although I am definitely not ready to jump into the same video editing software and tools, I still took alot away from this course. Stephen has done an amazing job where it is easy to follow along and alot of awesome things to learn. The tips and tricks of everything Stephen has learnt over 10+ years in 1 course including copyright platforms, software and even the hardware he uses to make the FTN videos. You only have to watch their first vlog to the lastest to appreciate how much they have grown and learnt to make first class vlogs. Your learning from the pros! Well done Jess & Stephen!!

I tried starting a travel YouTube channel, but did not continue creating content because editing videos was so difficult and time consuming for me. I didn't want something like lacking skills in video editing to deter me from creating content, so I decided to invest in the Flying the Nest Academy.
I am BEYOND happy that I did, because now I have more confidence and efficiency in editing and have recently hit 1,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel!
Thank you, Flying the Nest!

Doing the masterclass was sooo helpful! Stephen spoke about things I hadn't even thought about, and explained everything I really simple terms, so even a complete beginner like me could understand it. I'm using a different software to them and was initially worried it wouldn't be as beneficial to me, but it was still absolutely great - can only recommend!

10/10!! This course is jam packed with vital information for anyone wanting to up their editing game! I'm always so impressed with the content that Stephen, Jess (and baby Hunter) put out, so I knew this course would be a game changer for me.
The format made the information easy to digest. Each video ranges from 2 minutes to 24 in length and it's broken down nicely into the various modules. I found myself replaying certain ones, and actually taking notes (something I didn't even do back in school)!
I honestly can't thank these Stephen enough for sharing his passion for filmmaking and editing, and his overall quality of content and knowledge. This course got me so excited to get my own account up and running. It's definitely the push I needed to have the confidence to rock and roll.
Pictured is my course buddy (aka my pug), Mr. Bean. My other pug Miles Davis was sleeping in the other room. They give the course a 10/10 too :)

Buy if you want to know the XYZ of vlogging!
----------------------------------------
Hi Jess, Stephen and lil Hunter.
Greetings!
Anything and everything yo make has so much of heart and soul into it that it makes this digital world a beautiful place. I have always wondered the amount of time and effort that goes in making a vlog and although I have seen your introduction vlogs teaching basics of editing, i felt the need to dive deeper into it and thus ended up buying this course. I will say this is the best use of the money i spent. Everything was so detailed and explained in a way where i did not feel intimidated rather was excited and filled with enthusiasm. Through this course you have made the know- hows of vlogging available to people like me who have been procrastinating making vlogs for the longest time.
Huge thanks :D
Travelling With Crowsfeet
In 3.5 years we are taking early retirement. We plan on travelling the World and needed to learn new skills in photography and video. With that comes lots of video editing and who better to learn from, than our fellow West Australians, Stephen, Jess and their new Production Supervisor Hunter. We found the course a complete eye opener, and at times, for us oldies, a tad overwhelming. But, with Stephen's good communication skills, he explained all the aspects of video editing, in simple plain terms. We appreciated the fact, we could pause and rewind, and take notes, as this made the whole course all that more enjoyable, enabling us to complete it. PS All participants may need to buy a neck brace too, as their heads will spin constantly, as did yours LOL (and don't worry the Dr says we will be fully recovered in 3 weeks!).

Thank you so much for bringing this course to life, Stephen!!! Even after using PP for the last 12 months, I still found plenty of great learnings and improved my workflow dramatically. I loved the focus on audio (it was always something I struggled with before the course) and the simplified workflow has saved me hours, oh and the folder organisation style, no more lost music files Honestly we have increased our weekly adventure vids to 3x a week without sacrificing quality and our viewers have noticed the improvements. Thank you thank you thank you! Anyone considering signing up, just do it! And make sure to say Hi in the private masterclass Facebook group

Our experience with Flying the Nest Academy has been wonderful! Stephen breaks down how he edits their videos into easy to understand segments. We now use his editing style and tips into every one of our videos. Even our own viewers on youtube have noticed the improvement that our videos have gained from this course! 100% would recommend for someone wanting to improve their video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro!

I'm a complete beginner to create video, but Stephen's course is the best thing to watch if you want to learn more about organizing your files efficiently and storytelling through some tips. I learned so much and the explanations given by Stephen were very easy to understand and to apply.
It's also cool to really follow each steps of editing a video from a real project perspective. It really help understand each decision.

I was so impressed with Flying the Nest youtube videos that when they offered the class it was a no brainier for me. I am completely satisfied with the course. I am new to video editing and I learned so much more than I even expected. The class is well organized and Stephen explains everything so well. I definitely recommend this class!

So easy to follow, lots of information.

I am a complete beginner with some minor knowledge from YouTube. Once I started self educating I had so many questions, it was like Stephen knew I needed this and it came out at the perfect time.
I looked at Upwork for people to help and also other people courses but nothing quite felt right till Flying the Nest.
This course honestly taught me everything I needed to know from
importing images to exporting and uploading to YouTube & the settings to choose, sound effects, shortcuts, cutting clips (watching you do a whole video of your own) and his thoughts and processes behind it, b roll and how to plus music, literally everything!!
I am now so much more comfortable with Premier Pro that I feel like a pro lol
Also, the fact that I wasn't just looking at your screen but also you at the same time made it more personal, oh and the Facebook group to for all other questions is so much of a bonus!
Stop thinking about the academy and just do it!
Cindy R.
Thank you so much Stephen for this course! I enjoyed it a lot and can't wait to do my next travel video.
You are a really good teacher and I hope you will do more classes soon!
This class allow you to improve and understand how editing works. I learned all by myself so it is important for me to now have something to valid my skills and improve them.
As I use other editing programs, I really think of investing on Adobe now ahah
Thanks again and can't wait to see other videos!!

If you’re questioning whether you should get this or not, stop questioning yourself and just get it! Treat yourself! You won’t regret it!
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this course! It’s very relaxing, yet informative!
Video editing doesn’t have to be this confusing unfamiliar place! With Stephens knowledge and amazing ability of explaining and showing how to do things and more importantly WHY you do things it makes everything a lot less daunting!
I’ve learnt so much over the duration of this course and couldn’t be happier! It’s very in depth and interesting! You can tell a lot of thought and planning has gone into this course and it shows!
I’ve gone from barely being able to edit a clip together to understanding the structure behind a vlog and actually being able to edit my own cinematic masterpiece!!
So worth it!

Just buy it!
Honestly I'll need to make a video to describe just how amazing this course was. It goes beyond just editing as action or a 'thing you do'. Editing is a part of the storytelling process, and so you learn how to craft story-driven videos that maintain the audience's attention. From getting a first hand POV of Steve editing a vlog from scratch, to all the tips & tricks & shortcuts that make the process faster and more efficient, everything is covered. Loved the modules on organisation, backing up files, and file import workflow too. It's bland but OH so important (still sweating thinking the story Stephen tells around a droped hard drive). FTN Acadmy is shaping up to be my next (unofficial) Uni!

I'm honestly loving it so far. I was hooked when Stephen said he would be teaching much more than the basics of editing, but he will be also be in depth with how-tos of creating a storyline and questions on finding the perfect music for different scenes.
Right now, I don't have any complains. I'm having fun! I'll come back here if I ever have any revisions hehe.
